The reluctance of actor Mikhail Efremov to recognize himself in the video from the scene of a fatal accident in Moscow will in no way affect the establishment of the truth by the court, said the lawyer of the victims Alexander Dobrovinsky on August 6.
On Thursday, the Presnensky District Court of Moscow continued to consider the merits of Efremov’s case. During the meeting, testimonies of witnesses were heard and footage from the scene was presented.
The artist said that he “did not recognize himself in the video” after the accident.
“Procedurally, this will not affect anything. The judge will establish the truth in the case. If he refuses to recognize himself, others will do it for him, ”commented Dobrovinsky.
He also promised to provide video materials that will definitely prove Efremov’s guilt, and to file a civil lawsuit against the actor.
The accident happened on Smolenskaya Square in Moscow on June 8. Yefremov’s car drove into the oncoming lane and rammed a Lada van driven by a courier Sergey Zakharov. The man died in the hospital.
Traffic police officers, eyewitnesses, as well as medical examination data showed that the artist was intoxicated. In addition, traces of drugs were found in his body.
On August 5, the honorary lawyer of Russia, Alexander Ostrovsky, called the strategy of protecting Efremov disastrous, and the actor himself “a victim.”
