While crossing the border between Russia and Belarus in the Pskov region, the executive director of Open Russia, Andrei Pivovarov, was detained. Together with him, law enforcement officers detained members of the public organization Daniil Potapov and Alexander Fedoseyev.

They went to the republic to observe the presidential elections. As the site of “Novaya Gazeta” reports with reference to the press secretary of the organization Konstantin Fomin, they managed to inform their colleagues about what was happening. Then communication with them was lost.

According to Fontanka, they were detained by Russian border guards. The members of the “Open Russia” went to Belarus on a regular bus. The rest of the passengers, after being detained, freely crossed the border.
