The head of the representative office of the governor and the government of the Leningrad region under the government of Russia, Andrei Kovalev, died at the age of 50. Governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko brought condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased, according to the website of the regional government on Saturday, August 8.
“On behalf of the entire staff of the Administration of the Leningrad Region and on my own behalf, I express my sincere condolences to the family of Andrei Alekseevich Kovalev. We will keep the memory of this wonderful, bright person, ”the press service quotes the governor’s words.
Drozdenko noted that “he deeply grieves with his family, with those close to Andrei Alekseevich, shares a great grief at this difficult hour for them.”
The head of the Leningrad region added that Kovalev was a courageous and courageous man, devoted to his homeland and his cause. He was “sincerely loved by all who were lucky enough to know him” and to work with him.
Kovalev worked in the administration for about 20 years. He was an assistant to the governor, since March 2019 he headed the regional representative office under the Russian government.
