Dr. Kenneth E. Remy, who works in Missouri, posted Saturday this brief sequence of just over a minute, but which has caused a lot of reaction since.

“This is what it looks like when you breathe 40 times a minute when your oxygen level drops below 80,” Dr Remy says in the sequence where he wanted to recreate the moment before intubation.

“That’s what it looks like. I sincerely hope the last moments of your life don’t look like this, says the intensive care doctor. Because that’s what you’ll see if we don’t all start to wear the mask when we go out in public. ”

He ends his video by reminding people to wear the mask, to keep a distance and to wash their hands, reports the “New York Post”.

“I promise you. This is what your mom, dad, or kids will see at the end of their life if they get COVID. It’s very serious, ”he said.

In the state of Missouri, 3,750 people have died from COVID-19 and 279,000 people have been infected out of a population of 6.1 million people.

At the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, where Dr Remy works, the number of coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths has reached record levels in the past 10 days, according to the “St. Louis Post-Dispatch ”.

“Wearing a mask and not contracting the disease is the best way for you to protect your personal freedoms,” he concludes, referring to those who make it a political struggle.
