US President-elect Joe Biden, Democrat, admits the possibility of a Republican nomination for the post of Secretary of Commerce in the new administration. The information portal Axios writes about this, citing its sources.

They note that Biden may opt for the former head of Hewlett Packard Margaret Whitman, which campaigned party members in the 2016 and 2020 elections not to vote for President Donald Trump. She expressed support for his Democratic opponents. According to the publication, her candidacy will make it clear to the Republicans that Biden understands their problems and plans to solve them.

At the same time, as the portal specifies, “it is still highly likely” that the office of the president-elect will include only Democrats.
