A new record for the number of cases of COVID-19 was revealed in Ukraine

Ukraine has recorded a new record for the number of cases of COVID-19, said on the morning of Friday, November 27, the country’s Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov.

According to him, 16,218 new cases of the disease have been registered in the country.

“In particular, 666 children and 655 health workers fell ill. Also, over the past day, 2069 people were hospitalized; deaths – 192; recovered 8843 people, ”he wrote on Facebook.

He also cited updated data on the incidence in the country: for the entire time of the pandemic, 693 407 cases of the disease were detected, deaths – 11 909, 326 238 patients recovered.

Over the past day, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Dnepropetrovsk (1773), Zaporozhye (1003), Kiev (994) and Odessa (966) regions, as well as in Kiev (1520).

Stepanov recalled the need to maintain a distance, mask regime and hand hygiene.

A day earlier, 15 331 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine.

On November 23, President of the country Volodymyr Zelensky noted the effectiveness of the introduction of weekend quarantine, which came into force in the country on November 14, despite the daily increase in cases. On Saturday and Sunday in the country, the work of catering establishments, shopping centers, cinemas and other entertainment establishments is prohibited.

Zelensky also announced on that day that he had recovered from COVID-19, he learned about the disease on November 9.

On November 19, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal allowed the introduction of a lockdown due to the coronavirus. He noted that a number of tests associated with the pandemic await the country, but this should not be feared and hidden.
