The new helicopter of the National Air Ambulance Service took over duty in the Bilibino municipal district of Chukotka, Governor Roman Kopin said on Instagram. This happened within the framework of the “Healthcare” national project.

“Now one crew is based in the Coal Mines, the other in Bilibin, covering both the east and west of the district,” said the head of the region.

The board, in addition to reducing the call time, will help increase the number of medical flights by about 30%.

Last year, about 700 patients were evacuated by helicopters in Chukotka.

Earlier it became known that the National Air Ambulance Service (NSSA) plans to lease 66 helicopters – 29 medium Mi-8MTV-1 and 37 light Ansat. The Russian ambulance fleet will become 75 aircraft by the end of 2022. According to the newspaper “Kommersant”, this is half as much as expected
