Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kiev would not allow itself to interfere in the American elections, as well as spoil relations with the United States.
According to him, interference in the sovereign elections of another country is unacceptable under any circumstance.
“Ukraine did not allow and will not allow itself in the future to interfere in the elections and thereby damage our trusting and sincere partnership with the United States,” he wrote in his telegram channel.
Zelenskiy noted that preventing Kiev from being drawn into US domestic politics is a matter of Ukrainian national security. Ukraine is absolutely sure that its partners have “no less respectful attitude to the country’s sovereign right to internal affairs and the internal choice of priorities.”
“It is only on such principles that it is possible to build strong strategic partnerships,” the Ukrainian leader stressed.
