23-year-old Ilya Efremov, a driver who committed a drunken accident on Svoboda Street on the night of August 1, 2020, heard his verdict.
Earlier it was reported that the young man, being drunk, invited a friend and two girls, whom the friends met at the bar, for a ride. But he lost control of his Iran Khodro car. The car flew out onto the lawn and crashed into a tree.
The driver was not fatally injured. But his friend and two passengers were seriously injured. One of the girls died without living a day after the accident. The friend and the second passenger survived, but were seriously injured.
A criminal case was initiated against the dashing driver. The court established the guilt of the accused and sentenced him to 7 years in prison in a general regime colony. In addition to the term, Efremov will have to pay compensation to the victims for damage – 1 million 292 500 rubles.
The defendant’s lawyers intend to appeal the verdict.
