UFC fighter Adam Yandiev, detained on suspicion of beating up MMA fighters Sergey Kharitonov and Ruslan Abdo in Moscow, presented his version of events in an interview with the YouTube channel Podcast Golitsin Experience, published on Tuesday, November 17.

During a conversation with the presenter, the 32-year-old athlete said that if after what happened, he is called a “non-fighter”, then the defeat from him is a shame for Kharitonov.

“If I am such a coward and a“ non-combatant, ”then I will say first of all: if I am a“ non-combatant, ”just a question – what happened to you that evening then? After you have been put to bed by the “non-fighter”, who are you after that? This shame, which he now has, will remain for the rest of his life, ”Yandiev said, in particular.

He also stated that he acted in that situation as a man rightly, but wrongly as a father with many children. He asked forgiveness from everyone who “is now watching and watching this”, saying that he had never tried to “change shoes” in his life and never made excuses, so he was ready to answer for his actions.

On November 13, Yandiev attacked first the fighter Ruslan Abdo, and then Sergey Kharitonov. According to eyewitnesses, the attacker struck first from behind, presumably with brass knuckles.

Kharitonov received serious injuries: due to a broken nose, doctors planned to perform an operation.

Two criminal cases were opened against Yandiyev. It was reported that he was taken into custody and placed in one of the Moscow temporary detention centers. He was charged.
