Earlier, MK in Astrakhan reported that in the village of Sasykoli, Kharabalinsky district, unknown persons destroyed memorial plates on which the names of Astrakhan people participating in the Great Patriotic War were inscribed. The fact of vandalism occurred in the afternoon in the park of the 30th anniversary of the Komsomol.

On his Instagram, the governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, wondered where these people who destroyed the slabs grew up and were brought up.

“What the …? Less than a month left before the Victory Day celebrations. On the eve of this holiday, holy for our people, in the village of Sasykoli, Kharabalin region, vandals smashed memorial plaques in the park of the 30th anniversary of the Komsomol with the names of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War who died so that we could live.

I refuse to understand what prompted them to take this step. Where did these people grow up and were brought up, if you can call them that? The war has not spared a single family in our country. I am sure that there were also participants in the battles for the Motherland among the relatives of the hooligans. How will they look their fellow villagers in the eyes? What will they say to their children in the future? The police are checking today. Plates for the restoration of the monument have already been ordered, we plan to complete the work by April 25, “- Igor Babushkin wrote on his Instagram.

In his comments, ASI public representative Alexander Solovyov replies that this is not the first act of vandalism in the region in recent years, and each time the violators got off with fines, although the punishment should be more severe, maybe then it will be discordant.

Other subscribers of the Astrakhan governor adhere to the fact that vandals should be severely punished.

Police officers identified those who destroyed the memorial plates in the village. These are three schoolchildren aged 10-11 years. According to the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the children were playing catch-up in the park. Schoolchildren ran along the slabs as well. District police officers held a preventive conversation with children and parents. They were brought to administrative responsibility.
