The Voronezh authorities intend to speed up the registration of the Northern Forest plots in regional ownership. Local residents are worried that the natural area will be built up.
The last conflict in the Northern Forest took place on August 29. A local resident, advocating for the preservation of the forest, quarreled with the protection of one of the sites, fenced off. As a result, a resident of Voronezh received a hematoma after being shot in the stomach from a traumatic pistol.
After information about the conflict, Governor Alexander Gusev stressed that there would be no development in the Northern Forest.
“I instructed law enforcement officers to carefully investigate what happened. First of all, we need to hear the people of Voronezh who unanimously support the preservation of the green zone. And I fully share this opinion, ”the Abireg news agency quotes Gusev.
The Voronezh authorities intend to interact with the owners of the plots and exchange plots in the territory outside the Northern Forest. When the forest becomes regional property, an ecopark can be created there.
In addition, a commission will be created in the region that will monitor the safety of the Northern Forest, including keeping a record of trees.
