The Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, recommended that school directors of the Moscow Region establish holidays from October 5 to 11, the corresponding document on Thursday, October 1, was published on the website of the regional government.

“To recommend to the heads of educational organizations providing primary general, basic general, secondary general education on the territory of the Moscow region, to establish from October 5, 2020 to October 11, 2020 (inclusive) holidays for students,” the document says.

Earlier on Thursday, the Minister of Education of the Moscow Region, Irina Kaklyugina, said that in the Moscow Region, half of the schools with a modular system will go on vacation from October 5.

On the eve of the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that each region knows better on the spot whether to send schoolchildren on unscheduled vacations due to the risk of the spread of coronavirus.

A few days ago, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin made a decision that the school autumn holidays in the capital will be doubled and will take place from October 5 to 18 due to the worsening epidemiological situation in the city.

In turn, the development director of the National Parents’ Association Marianna Shevchenko, in a conversation with Izvestia, suggested that distance learning in schools would be returned in Moscow and a number of other regions in October.
