The German company Volkswagen at the end of this year will start selling the new Taigun crossover, which will compete with the Hyundai Creta model. This was reported on January 11 by Autonews.

It is noted that the production car will look like the concept car of the same name, presented at the Delhi Motor Show (India) in February 2020. The model is based on the new MQB-A0-IN platform. The crossover length will be about 4200 mm, and the wheelbase will be 2650 mm.

The new Volkswagen Taigun will receive a 115 hp liter petrol engine, as well as a 1.5-liter power unit producing 150 hp.

The first engine will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission, or with an “automatic”. A more powerful motor will be equipped with a seven-speed robotic transmission.

The car will be introduced to the Indian market. The cost of the model will be 1 million rupees (1.1 million rubles).

On October 22, it was reported that the Volkswagen ID.3 electric car passed a crash test conducted by the independent European organization EuroNCAP. The model received the highest rating, earning five stars out of five.
