In the Volgograd region, from September 1, the number of schoolchildren who will receive free hot meals will increase. Previously, such support operated only for first graders, the rest of primary school students were only partially compensated for the cost of meals.
Now the mechanism is extended to all students in grades 1-4. Thus, all primary school students will have free lunch at schools in the Volgograd region.
– Hot meals will be received by 147 thousand children, this is more than half of all schoolchildren in the Volgograd region, – noted in the press service of the regional duma. – Governor Andrey Bocharov also set a task to modernize school canteens and canteens. The first food processing plant has already been created in Volgograd; in the future, it is planned to spread this experience throughout the entire region.
Some categories of students in grades 5-11 will continue to receive compensation for the cost of meals. Funding will be allocated from the federal, regional and local budgets.
