Traffic police officers of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Volgograd carried out a preventive action aimed at preventing accidents involving cyclists.
On the eve of the traffic police inspectors arrived at the bike shop, where they reminded children and adults that it is necessary to comply with traffic rules.
So, since the beginning of this year, only in the regional center, 22 road incidents were registered, in which cyclists were injured. The cause of these accidents was the violation of the rules by both car drivers and drivers of two-wheeled vehicles.
State traffic inspectors told the buyers of bicycles how to take care of their safety, the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. The law enforcement officers recalled the rules for riding two-wheeled vehicles, informed about the need to use protective equipment, and also that before crossing the road, you must get off the bike and carry it next to you.
The police also talked about the importance of using reflective elements: they will make the cyclist more visible to road users. Volgograd residents received information leaflets, reflective bracelets and a disc “Not a game” from the guards.
