According to the head of the public organization “Regional Basketball Federation” Alexander Voropaev, from May 1 to May 4, a traditional basketball tournament was to be held in the capital of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. He shared information about the trip of young basketball players, which was interrupted tragic road accident in the Stavropol Territory.
– School â„–2 constantly participated in competitions in Cherkessk, – says Alexander Voropaev. – I was heading there too, but now I am going to the scene.
According to the head of the basketball federation, the competitions were included in a single schedule and the school is not obliged to notify all authorities about the participation in the tournament. For this, the educational institution issues its own order and approves sports events for children.
The school has been working with a driver who drove the children to the competition for a very long time. He took athletes to many tournaments, including the Russian championship, writes Volgogradskaya Pravda.ru. He has a license to transport people, including children.
– The driver tried to avoid the collision until the last moment, even drove to the side of the road. As he said, he simply did not have enough space to complete this maneuver. Because the “nine”, which went to overtake in front of them, crashed into a truck wheel.
