Ice, ice, blizzards and snow drifts await residents of the Central Federal District (CFD) on December 25, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
“On Friday, the very unfavorable weather in Moscow: sleet, snow drifts, snowstorms, ice. However, there is a benefit in this – the height of the snow will increase by 8-12 sentiments, ”TASS quoted him on December 24.
Vilfand clarified that the bad weather will affect not only the capital region, but also other parts of the Central Federal District. According to the Hydrometeorological Center, in some regions the wind will increase and gusts up to 12-17 m / s are possible.
Earlier that day, a forecaster warned of a “snow collapse” in Moscow on the night of December 25. According to him, more than 10 cm of precipitation will fall in the capital. Wilfand called the weather expected in the region at the end of this week “completely non-standard.”
