On Sunday, December 27, in the center of the European part of Russia, the Anticyclone will replace the cyclone, which will lead to a cold snap, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.
“On Sunday, daytime and nighttime temperatures -5 … -10 degrees, mostly without precipitation, the sun will peep out,” the RIA Novosti forecaster quoted on 23 December.
“Further, the next confrontation between the western cyclone and the eastern anticyclone will lead to the fact that the cyclonic formation will go to the north-east of the European territory, and there will again be a high pressure area in the center,” the scientist noted.
As a result, nighttime temperatures will drop below -10 degrees early next week.
Earlier, on December 22, the leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, said that in the last days of 2020, sunny and frosty weather with light snowfalls is expected in Moscow. The specialist added that the residents of the capital will meet the New Year with normal snow cover and light invigorating frost.
