Dangerous snowfalls and blizzards are expected in the Central Federal District (CFD) at the end of this week, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.

“At the end of this week, on Saturday, a complex of dangerous weather events is predicted in the Central Federal District: snowfalls, blizzards, snow drifts … On December 25-26, there will be snowfalls in the Central Federal District, in some places strong,” the RIA Novosti forecaster quotes.

At the same time, he specified that in the western part of the district there will be snow drifts, ice in places, sticking of wet snow on wires and trees, as well as an increase in wind up to 17-18 m / s. The increase in snow on December 25 and 26 in the center of European Russia will be 10-25 centimeters.

On December 25, during the day, increased snowfalls are expected in the Tver, Kaluga, Smolensk, Bryansk regions. Only in the afternoon – in the capital region, Tula, Oryol and Belgorod regions.

“During the day on December 25 and 26 in the Kostroma, Ivanovo, Ryazan, Tambov, Voronezh regions there will be heavy snow,” added Vilfand.

The day before, the meteorologist warned that the regions of the Volga Federal District would expect anomalous frosts within a week.
