In the small old Russian city of Venev near Tula, local residents finally saw the comfortable Red Square. It began to be put in order in 2019 as part of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment”.
In 2020, an all-season cultural and tourist space appeared here, which has recreation areas, a children’s and a sports ground. Now in this place you can hold events in multifunctional pavilions. A stele “Venev – the city of the Big Zasechnaya Line” was installed on Red Square, landscaping was done. Many other works were also carried out here. The project cost is 76 million rubles.
“Throughout 2020, residents of Venev followed the pace of reconstruction of Red Square and the bell tower even more than the statistics of the coronavirus. There is probably some higher meaning in the fact that the largest investment in the tourist Venev was made in 2020. Maybe this is a sign that all restrictions will be lifted sooner or later, and one must believe in the best. The Red Square project is officially over. On the new playground, made according to “Finnish technology”, even in the cold there are those who want to spend time. In the spring, new pavilions will open institutions for residents and guests of the city. Completion of work on the bell tower is expected in the summer of 2021, ”said Denis Makhel, a local historian from Venev, Tula region, head of the local“ Tourist Information Center ”.
