Woman-cosmonaut and State Duma deputy Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova at the regional conference of “United Russia” announced the good news. She managed to convince Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, to allocate funds to repair the bridge over the Volga in Rybinsk.
The bridge in Rybinsk was built 60 years ago and has not been overhauled since then. Earlier it was reported that the regional budget will allocate 140 million for repairs. And Rybinsk will add 7 million.
At a personal reception, Vladimir Putin promised to allocate 2.5 billion rubles for a large-scale reconstruction of the bridge. In principle, these funds may be enough for the construction of a new bridge.
The renovation is scheduled for 2022.
