A pilot stage of vaccination against coronavirus infection using the Sputnik V drug has started in the Krasnodar Territory. The first who were able to test the vaccine on themselves were the doctors of local covid hospitals, the regional administration specifies. 42 employees of such medical institutions as adult and children’s specialized clinical infectious diseases hospitals, the first and second regional clinical hospitals, city clinical hospitals No. 1 and No. 3 have already been vaccinated.
The first batch of vaccine entered the territory of the Kuban under an agreement with the Russian government. During the pilot phase, all regions received the same number of vaccine doses on equal terms. So far, only workers of infectious diseases who work directly with covid-infected can get vaccinated. The drug was developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Ministry of Health.
Vaccination is carried out in two stages in the age range from 18 to 60 years. First, one component of the vaccine is introduced, after 21 days – the second. In total, the region should receive almost five thousand doses.
