The American intelligence services, guarding the American leadership, reported that their employee was injured in a shootout near the White House. The service said that none of the protected persons were endangered.
The incident took place at the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania, service representatives said on their official Twitter. The victim also needed hospitalization, RIA Novosti reports.
An investigation is underway.
Earlier, speaking at a press conference at the White House, US President Donald Trump left the event without explanation when a man from the administration approached him and said something. Back in the briefing room, Trump confirmed the shooting near the White House.
