The two networks, which belong to the Facebook group, first temporarily suspended Donald Trump’s accounts just after the attack in Washington, before extending this measure indefinitely the next day, at least until the transition of the 20th. The most used communication channel by the 45th US president, which went almost exclusively through his personal account and not that reserved for the US president, Twitter indefinitely suspended the @realDonaldTrump account on Friday, depriving the billionaire of access to his approximately 89 million of subscribers.
“After careful consideration of recent @realDonaldTrump tweets and the current context – including how they are interpreted (…) – we have suspended the account indefinitely due to the risk of further incitement to violence” from the outgoing US President , the company said in a statement.

The tweet network, which is the platform where Donald Trump had the most subscribers, had already toughened its retaliatory measures on Wednesday, removing several messages from the head of state, instead of simply masking them with warning notes .

Donald Trump’s channel on Google’s platform is still live, but several videos contesting the election results have been removed.
YouTube’s (Google) policy on this type of disinformation has also been tightened: “channels that receive three warnings in 90 days will be permanently removed,” Youtube warned.
Snapchat (2 million subscribers)
The social network much appreciated by the younger generations for its ephemeral content sent blocked the profile of the outgoing president on Thursday.
In June, its CEO Evan Spiegel had already seemed to send – without mentioning it – a first watermarked warning to Donald Trump, at the time of the demonstrations of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
“We continue to allow divisive people to keep an account on Snapchat, as long as the published content meets our terms of service, but we will not promote this account or its content,” he wrote, while the platform has a “Discover” space to highlight the content it has chosen.
Twitch (152,000 subscribers)
The video streaming platform, owned by e-commerce giant Amazon and very popular with gamers to broadcast their games live, also made the decision to suspend the account of the President of the United States on Thursday.
“In view of the exceptional circumstances and the President’s inflammatory rhetoric, we believe this is a necessary step to protect our community and prevent Twitch from being used to incite more violence,” argued the network in a statement to the US media.
He also plans to reassess his position after the January 20 transition.
