Yesterday Astrakhan hosted the II stage of the XXIX Conference of the regional branch of the United Russia party. We discussed many exciting issues: the upcoming elections to the City Duma of Astrakhan, preparations for them and the pre-election program. The new electoral program differs significantly from its previous versions, now special attention is paid to the renewal of the urban space. The motto “The time has come to think about Astrakhan” especially attracts attention.
It is not very clear what prevented us from thinking about Astrakhan earlier, because the party has existed for 19 years, and the time has come only now. In any case, we hope that this is indeed the case. In any case, Igor Babushkin, addressing his colleagues, singled out a new slogan separately, they say, it’s time to work in one team. Well, time will tell to what extent the governor’s expectations will come true.
In addition to the head of the region, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrei Turchak, Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Alexander Bashkin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Leonid Ogul, Acting Head of the Administration of Astrakhan Maria Permyakova, deputies and heads of local governments.
Andrei Turchak, addressing the participants of the event, said that he first visited our city and shared his impressions. He called Astrakhan a very hospitable and clean city, although, of course, we could argue with the second position. In any case, Andrei Turchak shared the details of the work of the United Russia party during the coronavirus pandemic. In all departments, including the Astrakhan one, volunteer headquarters were deployed. Party representatives helped those who needed help: elderly people, large and low-income families, and medical workers. Even now, when the situation has stabilized, volunteers on behalf of the party continue to work for the benefit of the region.
The fact that the majority of Astrakhan residents supported the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation did not go unnoticed, for which the deputy chairman expressed his special gratitude to the residents of the region.
Governor Igor Babushkin noted that the election campaign can become part of the development strategy of Astrakhan, as well as the fact that only working in a single team can achieve results.
Also at the event, the head of the United Russia faction in the Duma of the Astrakhan region, Irina Rodnenko, was solemnly awarded the Order for Services to the Astrakhan Region.
