In principle, Ukraine does not intend to negotiate with the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) “even in a conventional space.” This was announced on Thursday, April 22, on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel, the adviser to the Kiev delegation in the contact group on Donbass, Oleksiy Arestovich.
“Our position is fundamental, it consists in the fact that there will be no negotiations with the so-called LPR and DPR, and cannot be, even in a conventional space, in the“ fantasy on the second floor, ”says Arestovich.
On the same day, April 22, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for talks on the contact line in Donbass.
Denis Pushilin asked the Ukrainian head to come to the meeting not accompanied by the leaders of third countries, but independently in order to implement an “honest and open conversation.”
