A Loughborough University student invented a virtual guide dog. As you know, visually impaired and blind people use the help of specially trained animals, but their preparation takes a lot of time, and such dogs are not cheap.

The solution may be a gadget invented by a future industrial designer. The owner of the device sets the required destination by voice, and the device itself makes the most convenient route, taking into account the weather, traffic jams and the flow of pedestrians. With the help of sound signals and voice prompts, the gadget will warn about obstacles, traffic signals and approaching vehicles.

The navigation system of the device works on the principle of spacecraft navigation using special sensors and 3D cameras. So far, only a prototype of the device has been created, it will be tested, but the idea, of course, deserves attention, writes New Atlas.
