The Leninsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against two residents of the regional center. They were found guilty of attempted drug trafficking.

According to the prosecutor’s office of the Tula region, in January 2020, the attackers, using bookmarks, prepared a batch of synthetic drugs for sale. The intruders were “covered” by the police. Militiamen have withdrawn from circulation more than 98 g of narcotic drugs.

The attackers asked for cryptocurrency for drugs. In order to legalize the proceeds of crime, one of the accomplices later cashed bitcoins through various banking systems. The amount was over 1.1 million rubles.

The court sentenced the perpetrators to imprisonment for terms ranging from 9 years to 9 years 6 months, serving a sentence in a penal colony with a strict regime. Each of them was fined 40 thousand rubles.

The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed.
