US President Donald Trump explained why the Russian authorities do not want him to be re-elected. He stated this on August 7 at a press conference, which was broadcast on the White House page on Twitter.
“The last person that Russia wants to see at the post [президента США], this is Donald Trump. Because no one has been as harsh with Russia as I am, ”Trump told reporters.
As examples of his “harsh” decisions, he named the strengthening of the defense potential of the United States, an increase in NATO’s military budget, as well as sanctions against Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream.
Also, according to Trump, China least wants his re-election.
On the eve, the director of the American National Center for Counterintelligence and Security, William Evanina, accused Russia of denigrating the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and supporting the current head, Gazeta.ru writes.
The US presidential election will be held on November 3, 2020. According to the latest polls, Biden is ahead of Trump in votes in three strategically important states for the incumbent.
