Trump accepts Republican Party nomination for second term

US President Donald Trump accepted Thursday evening, in the gardens of the White House, the nomination of his party as a candidate for a second term, at the end of the Republican convention.

“My compatriots, this evening, with a heart full of gratitude and an unlimited optimism, I accept this nomination for the presidency of the United States”, he launched in front of an audience of a thousand guests, after a speech by his daughter and advisor, Ivanka Trump.

The president said Thursday evening that his Democratic presidential rival, Joe Biden, would be the gravedigger of “America’s greatness.”

According to the candidate invested that same evening by the Republican Party, the election of November 3 will be played out between “the American dream” and a “socialist program of destruction of the precious destiny” of the United States.
