Tours purchased under the cashback program can be postponed until the end of 2021, if a high alert or emergency situation is declared on the territory of the resort. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“The exact time of the transfer should be determined by an additional agreement between the tourist and the legal entity that formed the tourist service. The trip according to the new date should be completed no later than December 31, 2021, “- said in a message on the government website, published on December 31.
The rules apply to citizens in whose region of permanent residence a high alert or emergency regime has been declared.
The decision is due to the fact that due to the introduction of restrictions in the regions, many tourists began to turn to tour operators and hotel owners with a request to postpone their trip to a later date.
Currently, the issue has been resolved at the government level, the Cabinet noted.
The partial refund program for buying tours in Russia started in August 2020. During this time, citizens were able to purchase tours for 6.5 billion rubles. The total cashback amount was 1.2 billion rubles. About 60 thousand people have already taken advantage of the program.
