Foreign tourists coming to Thailand on a long-term visa will be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine in Bangkok. This was announced on September 18 by the head of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Pipat Ratchakit Prakan.

“Tour operators can start promoting long-stay offers on a special tourist visa to potential customers right now. Tourists can contact the overseas offices of the Tourism Authority of Thailand for more information on travel plans, ”the Bangkok Post reported.

The first group of tourists since the border closure is expected to arrive in Thailand in October. It is important that travelers provide Thai consular officers with all the necessary documents, including payment for their quarantine stay, confirmation of hotel or apartment reservations after isolation, a charter flight ticket or private jet reservation, a coronavirus-free certificate, and a medical insurance policy.

Earlier, Aeroflot resumed flights to Cairo from 9 September. The first flight of the Egyptian EgyptAir from Moscow took place on Thursday.

It is noted that from September 1, all passengers arriving in Egypt must provide the results of a coronavirus test, which is done less than 72 hours before departure. This requirement does not apply to children under 6 years of age.
