Twelve leading football teams in Europe have agreed to create a new tournament – the European Super League. This was announced by a number of sports journalists, citing a press release.
“The matches will be held in the middle of the week, the founding clubs will run the tournament,” the document says.
Teams from England (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham), Spain (Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona “) and Italy (Inter, Milan and Juventus).
“Three more clubs are expected to join before the start of the first season, which is expected to start as soon as possible. In the future, the founding clubs look forward to consulting with UEFA and FIFA to work together,” the press release said.
Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, has been appointed chairman of the European Super League. His deputies are Andrea Agnelli (Juventus) and Joel Glazer (Manchester United).
