Forward of the basketball club “Los Angeles Lakers” LeBron James became the athlete of the year according to the American magazine Time, reported on December 10 on the website of the publication.
It is noted that the 35-year-old athlete this year was noted not only by the fact that he led the Lakers to the 17th title in the National Basketball Association (NBA), but also by his active civil position. In particular, he was one of the most ardent supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, and also attracted Americans to the polls in the November elections.
“After nearly two decades in the NBA, LeBron James fully realized that his talent on the court is a means to achieving something greater. And this year, more than ever before, he showed why he has no equal, ”the newspaper writes.
