At least eight people were killed in three shootings Tuesday in massage parlors in Atlanta and a nearby city, several US media reported, with no link being made between the events for the moment.
A first shooting killing three and wounding two took place Tuesday afternoon in a massage parlor nearly 50 km from Atlanta, the largest city in the state of Georgia, in the southeastern United States, a spokesperson for the Cherokee County police said, as quoted by the daily Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Later in the afternoon, two more shootings left four dead at two nearby massage parlors in Atlanta, city police said, according to CNN.
The four victims of the last two shootings are women and are believed to be of Asian origin.
A 21-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday evening, more than 240 km south of Atlanta, theAtlanta Journal-Constitution.
