Law enforcement authorities detained three people after an attacker attacked a police officer in Rambouillet, near Paris. This was reported on Friday, April 23rd, by the BFMTV channel.

Earlier on Friday, April 23, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen ordered to strengthen security measures in front of all police stations and gendarmerie in the country.

A police officer was attacked earlier in the day. The man attacked the woman in the building of the police station and stabbed her, as a result of which she died some time later. While trying to arrest the attacker, he was wounded by law enforcement officers and later died, according to the website 360tv.ru.

According to the TV channel, during the attack, the attacker shouted Islamic slogans, and the last page he viewed on his smartphone was a YouTube video dedicated to jihad.

Also on Friday, the channel’s sources reported that the attacker was a Tunisian citizen. He arrived in France in 2009. It is also clarified that the deceased police officer was 49 years old. The country’s national anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office has already begun an investigation into the attack. Prior to that, the investigation was carried out by the prosecutor’s office Iveline.

French President Emmanuel Macron, commenting on the attack, said that the republic will not surrender in the fight against terrorism.

Arrived on the scene, French Prime Minister Jean Casteks called the attack a new terrorist attack. He also reaffirmed the determination of the French government to fight against all forms of terrorism.
