Over the past day, 12 residents of the Tula region have become victims of telephone scammers. This was announced today, August 8, by the website of the Russian MIA Administration for the Tula Region.
Fraudsters withdrew over 3 million rubles from electronic accounts of Tula people. This is a kind of anti-record – usually the amount of losses is 300-600 thousand per day.
The scheme of fraudsters is unchanged: unknown persons call citizens by mobile phone and, under various pretexts, ask them to provide bank card details or to transfer money for any goods or services. Victims are aware of the methods used by criminals, as well as the methods of committing fraud, and still fall for the tricks of the attackers.
