The US Senate has published a report on the activities of Russian businessmen Arkady and Boris Rotenberg. The document claims that they allegedly used the art industry in order to “cheat” the restrictive measures imposed by the US government on the Rothenbergs in 2014.
It is clarified that the 147-page document was prepared by Senators Rob Portman and Tom Carper following an investigation that lasted for two years.
“During the investigation, it was possible to identify purchases in the United States of art objects in the amount of $ 18 million by fictitious companies allegedly associated with the Rothenbergs … They continued to be active in the US art market, buying art … for several months after the imposition of sanctions “, – the document says
