Five State Duma deputies fell ill with COVID-19 again. This was announced by the speaker of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin on December 15.

“After being ill, they got sick again, that is, the antibodies did not develop, and became infected,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

According to Volodin, one of the re-illnesses is an 81-year-old Duma deputy, Hero of the Soviet Union and Russia, polar explorer Artur Chilingarov. The rest of the patients are also at risk, he added.

In total, 157 parliamentarians have been ill or are in the hospital due to the coronavirus, the State Duma speaker noted.

Volodin also said that in the summer the spread of coronavirus began to decline, but after the holiday season, the incidence of COVID-19 resumed. In this regard, he urged the deputies to limit their travel outside the country.

Earlier, on December 9, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced isolated cases of repeated COVID-19 disease in Russia. According to her, there is no mass spread of the case of a second disease in the country.

A day earlier, on December 8, Vyacheslav Volodin said that only 30% of the State Duma deputies fell ill with COVID-19, namely 144 parliamentarians, 15 people are in hospitals, Interfax wrote.
