The Russian national team won the medal standings at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championship, which ended in Basel. The Russian team won five gold, seven silver and one bronze medals.
The second place was taken by the British team, the third – by the Swiss.
Gold medals were won by Nikita Nagorny (personal all-around and floor exercises), David Belyavsky (exercises on the bar), Victoria Listunova (personal all-around), Angelina Melnikova (exercises on uneven bars).
Nagorny also won two silver awards (exercises on horseback and rings), Melnikova – two silver medals in floor exercises and individual all-around and bronze in vault. In addition, Belyavsky won two silver medals, and Vladislav Urazova won another.
The day before, Nagorny became the European champion in floor exercise for the second time, and the continental champion in artistic gymnastics for the eighth. The day before, the gymnast defended the title of absolute European champion, gaining 88.032 points in the all-around, Gazeta.ru writes.
The upcoming European Artistic Gymnastics Championships will take place in 2022 in Munich.
