The prosecutor’s office of the Tomsk region sent a criminal case to the court about occupying a higher position in the criminal hierarchy, where the accused considered himself to be a thief in law. This is stated in the press service of the department.
“The accused for more than seven years, from 2013 to the present, occupies the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, ranking himself in the category of so-called thieves in law who have indisputable authority in the criminal environment,” the statement said.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the person involved in the case uses his influence to organize, direct and coordinate criminal activities in the Tomsk and Kemerovo regions. A criminal case under Art. 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Occupation of the highest position in the criminal hierarchy”) was sent to the Tomsk Regional Court.
Such an article appeared in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in April 2019 and provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years.
