The Prosecutor General’s Office named the regions with the highest number of corruption crimes

The largest number of corruption crimes in the first half of 2020 was revealed in Moscow, Tatarstan and Krasnodar Territory. This is stated in the report of the Prosecutor General’s Office published on August 7 on the state of crime in the country from January to June this year.

According to the ministry, during this period in Russia there were registered almost 19 thousand corruption crimes, which is 2.7% less than in the same period last year. The largest number of these crimes occurs in Moscow, Tatarstan and the Krasnodar Territory. In the capital, as noted, their number increased by almost a third, amounting to 1400, in Tatarstan, the number also increased by 36.5% – to 707, in the Krasnodar Territory the indicator remained practically unchanged and amounted to 708.

On July 19, the prosecutor’s office of the Orenburg region said that from January to June, 283 corruption crimes were committed in the region. The total amount of bribes received was 742 thousand rubles, and the average for one case was 25.6 thousand rubles.

In February, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that crimes related to petty bribery (up to 10 thousand rubles) were more often detected in Russia. According to statistics, the number of such crimes increased by 43.1% – from 364 to 521 cases.
