In Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov region, the Immortal Regiment procession in 2021 will take place online. Coordinator of the movement Andrei Kudryakov spoke about this.
– The central headquarters of the movement made such a decision because of the pandemic. This means that we are again deprived of the opportunity to celebrate Victory Day in our usual favorite way, ” Kudryakov commented on his blog on the social network.
The event will take place at 15:00 on May 9. Anyone can apply for participation on the website polkrf.ru.
Elena Tsunaeva, co-chairman of the All-Russian public civil-patriotic movement “Immortal Regiment of Russia”, hopes that the action will take place in person on June 24.
The Immortal Regiment has been held since 2012. The international action is aimed at maintaining the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland from the fascist invaders. During the “Immortal Regiment” people carry portraits of their ancestors who fought or helped the front.
The Immortal Regiment has been held on the territory of the Rostov Region since 2015. The action is attended not only by residents of the Don region, but also from foreign countries. Participants come from the USA, Great Britain, Israel, Finland to honor the memory of the participants in the Great Patriotic War.
