The number of detected cases of coronavirus infection worldwide has exceeded 20 million. Such data are published on the Johns Hopkins University website, which summarizes data from local and federal authorities, as well as open sources.
According to information at 3:00 Moscow time, a total of 20,001,019 cases of the disease were registered in the world, the number of deaths was 733,897, more than 12.2 million people recovered. At the same time, the USA remains the leader in the number of cases. More than 5 million infections have been recorded in the country.

On August 6, it was reported that the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia patented the domestic drug for coronavirus infection “Leitragin”, which can mitigate or prevent a cytokine storm – the release of pro-inflammatory substances that leads to the development of severe respiratory and general systemic disorders in a patient with coronavirus infection.
After the completion of the clinical phase of the trials, Leitragin will be mass produced to treat complications that can lead to death.
