The mother of six children, held by a man in an apartment in the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg, was unable to visit them in the hospital without the permission of the guardianship authorities. This was reported on Thursday, November 26, in the office of the city children’s ombudsman.

“This afternoon, my mother brought things and food for her children to the Children’s City Hospital No. 22. Since the boys were taken to the health care institution by ambulance according to the police act, the mother is not allowed to see the children without the permission of the guardianship authorities, ”the TASS Ombudsman’s Office quoted.

It is clarified that the mother plans to obtain such a permit tomorrow and visit her children.

Earlier, on November 25, doctors discovered a broken nose in one of the children, and a head injury in the other, in connection with which the children were sent for a medical examination.

As the ombudsman for children’s rights in St. Petersburg, Anna Mityanina, reported yesterday, the children are exhausted, but there is no threat to their lives.

The fact that a man barricaded himself with six children in an apartment at home on Proletarskaya Street in the municipality of St. Petersburg, Kolpino, became known on November 24. Three of the captured children were his own, and the rest were the children of his wife. The youngest child is three years old, the oldest is 15 years old. According to some reports, the man was intoxicated.

Later, the invader surrendered to law enforcement officers. He was lured out of the apartment by a negotiator, after which he was twisted by special forces.

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg reported that one of the man’s motives could be his jealousy of his wife. On the fact of taking children hostage, a criminal case was initiated on illegal imprisonment. His investigation is ongoing. The man is in custody.
