The Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region named the five most dangerous plants in the region. On Friday, July 31, the chief freelance pediatrician of the Moscow region, Niso Odinaeva, told about this on the department’s website.
According to her, hogweed, wolf bast, lily of the valley, henbane and spotted hemlock are capable of causing the greatest harm to adults and children.
Odinaeva named the symptoms indicating body poisoning. “It is not difficult to get poisoned with some plants. Pallor, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pains, headaches, dizziness, weakness, lethargy – all these are symptoms that speak of poisoning, “the doctor quotes the TV channel” 360 “.
She added that in severe cases, intoxication is accompanied by arrhythmias, disorientation and confusion.
“If you observe such changes in a child’s well-being, it is necessary to rinse the stomach and immediately consult a doctor,” Odinaeva emphasized.
According to her, ordinary lilies of the valley can stop the heart. They have poisonous stems, leaves, flowers, and especially berries. They contain substances that affect the cardiovascular system.
Lily of the valley poisoning causes a sharp slowdown in heart rate and cardiac arrest. Poisoning is more difficult for children. Therefore, they need timely medical assistance.
Earlier, on July 6, Rospotrebnadzor recommended not eating mushrooms for children under 14 years old. Mushroom poisoning is most difficult for people with poor health and children. The child’s body does not yet have the required amount of enzymes for their digestion, the department replied.
