The troops involved in the sudden inspection are returning to their permanent deployment points, the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday, April 28.

According to the ministry, the Pskov paratroopers are transferred by BTA aircraft from Crimea to the point of permanent deployment.

“The personnel of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation, who took part in the exercise, proceeded to transfer personnel to the PPD by Military Transport Aviation aircraft from the Kirovskoe airfield in the Republic of Crimea to the Kresty airfield in the city of Pskov. Combat and special equipment with crews are sent to the PPD by military echelons, ”the message says.

In total, over 150 specialists from the missile brigade took part in the control check of the Iskander’s crews. In the redeployment of units of the Airborne Forces, about 40 units of military and special equipment were involved. The Ministry of Defense added that more than 30 aircraft flights of the Military Transport Aviation will be made to deliver personnel, as well as combat and special equipment of the Airborne Forces, to the points of permanent deployment.

On April 24, the video showed the return of the Russian military from exercises in the Crimea to the points of permanent deployment. The main stage of the exercises of the Southern Military District and the Airborne Forces took place at the Opuk training ground as part of a sudden check of combat readiness. In the active phase, more than 10 thousand servicemen, 1.2 thousand units of weapons and equipment took part in it.

On April 6, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that combat readiness checks had started in the Russian Armed Forces.
