Specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defense selected more than 300 promising innovative developments and projects at the Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum. This was announced on Saturday, August 29, by the head of the main department of research activities and technological support of advanced technologies of the military department, Andrei Goncharov.
“The interested military authorities have pre-selected and included in the consolidated register of more than 300 promising innovative developments and projects,” TASS quoted Goncharov as saying.
He noted that on Saturday, experts will continue to study the presented samples of weapons, military and special equipment at the training grounds.
“The display of weapons and equipment in dynamics will traditionally be distinguished by an interspecific focus, where the running and fire capabilities of weapons and military equipment of the RF Armed Forces will be demonstrated,” Goncharov added.
Deputy Defense Minister of Russia Alexei Krivoruchko said on August 25 that as a result of contracts signed during the International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2020”, the Russian Armed Forces will receive more than 500 new models of equipment, more than 80 thousand missiles and ammunition.
It became known last week that the Kalashnikov concern will create a new light machine gun based on the RPK-16 and the prototype of the weapon was presented at the Army-2020 forum, Gazeta.ru writes.
The Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum will end its work on August 29, 2020.
