Moscow, in spite of everything, wants to continue relations with Washington, although it cannot ignore the statements of American leader Joe Biden. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov on March 19.

“The President (of Russia. – Ed.) Has clearly stated his desire, in spite of everything, to continue relations between the two countries. Because it is in the interests not only of our two countries, but also in the interests of the whole world. But of course, we cannot ignore the words of Mr. Biden, ”said a Kremlin spokesman.

So Peskov answered the question that, according to some experts, the United States did not accept the proposal of the Russian leader to talk with Biden without enthusiasm, and the world is waiting for a new “cold war.”

According to the press secretary, observers and experts make their living on such forecasts, but the Kremlin hopes for the best, even though they are “always ready for the worst.”

On March 17, the American president said that the Russian Federation must “pay the price” for its “interference” in the course of the US elections. According to Biden, he had previously had a “long conversation” with Putin. At the same time, he allegedly warned the Russian leader about a possible response.

The American leader’s statement was preceded by the publication, on March 16, of a report by the National Intelligence Office, in which Russian statesmen were accused of trying to help Donald Trump’s re-election and obstruct Biden’s presidential elections. Washington also announced the adoption of new anti-Russian sanctions. Moscow categorically rejected the accusations, pointing out that they were unsubstantiated.

The Kremlin expressed regret that such “low-quality materials”, in all likelihood. are used as a pretext for the next sanctions. The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said this would harm “the already sick Russian-American relations.”

On March 18, Putin offered to hold an open online conversation with his American counterpart and discuss a number of issues. Biden was later asked if he agreed to the conversation, but the US president did not answer. At the same time, the White House noted that both presidents had already communicated recently, and Biden will be busy in the near future.
